The Mandalorian Bags an Emmy in Best Visual Effects Category

This year, at Emmys, the Mandalorian scored five wins, including the one in the Visual Effects category.

The exceptional work, primarily in the back- end domain, has finally paved the way for an Emmy Award in recognition of the production team’s achievements in the Visual Effects category.

After an abysmal performance from Solo: A Star Wars Story, fans needed something to cheer them up, and they didn’t have to wait much longer because when the spin-off show The Mandalorian introduced itself to the world in late 2019, it instantly hooked them up. The spin-off slowly went from being an eye-catcher to being a sensation. What had stirred the viewers’ imagination was its splendid visual effects that exceeded the decade-old stereotypical expectation that had been set upon a TV series. The battle scenes intensified by visceral visual brilliance could have put any modern high budgeted blockbuster to shame.

The battle scenes ranged from high energy weapons tussle in space to skillful confrontations in enclosed hallways, The Mandalorian never disappointed and did not even shy away from showcasing fan-favorite Star Wars arsenal ranging from blaster rifles to the Darksaber ( that antagonist Moff Gideon will wield against Mando in season 2).

However, despite the frantic budget, Pedro Pascal’s wit and Star Wars name attached to the project, it faced heated competition from the high quality shows such as Netflix’s hugely fan followed shows “Lost in Space,” “Stranger Things,” HBO’s coming of age DC series “Watchmen,” and Jonathan Nolan’s brainchild “Westworld.”

The expected viewership for season 2 is already very high, and it is likely to go up after the announcement of its victory at Emmys. The second Season trailer has already been unveiled, and the series will premiere on October the 30th, 2020. The names of the new cast have been strictly kept under wraps, even to the extent that they were asked by the production team to come to the sets wearing a veil. However, names like Rosario Dawson, Temuera Morrison, Timothy Olyphant, Michael Biehn have been speculated to be the ones signed in as the new cast.

New Star Wars characters like Ahsoka Tano and Boba Fett have been confirmed to be part of the second Season’s plot.

Nothing specific has been revealed about the plot, but the trailer did indicate the second Season will see Pedro Pascal’s “Mando” trying to unite Baby Yoda, aka The Child, with his mysterious origin race encountering action-packed resistance along the way.
